4 Month Sleep Schedule

The 4 month sleep regression tends to blow a babys sleeping habits to pieces so youll want to wait until your baby is past the worst of the 4 month sleep regression until you try to establish a daytime schedule. Four-month-old babies tend to need 11 to 12 hours of sleep a night. Baby can comfortably stay awake for about 2 hours between naps.

Still every babys sleep needs are different and its normal if your child snoozes a little more or less than that. Experts suggest that babies of 4 months sleep for 90 minutes for two out of their three naps with the third nap being significantly shorter. As babies get older the amount of wake time will increase.

Most 4 month olds will take 4 naps a day. This 4 month old sample schedule is a snapshot of one day. Between 4 and 6 months your little ones naptimes may still vary but theyll most likely be napping somewhere between 2 and 4 hours in total during the day.
