Wine Sauce

Once you learn the basic red wine sauce recipe try varying it to perfect it to your desired taste.
Wine sauce. Wine sauce is a culinary sauce prepared with wine as a primary ingredient heated and mixed with stock butter herbs spices onions garlic and other ingredients. In a medium saucepan over medium high heat combine the cream wine flour salt and parsley. Pour in 5 tbsp balsamic vinegar and cook until evaporated away to a syrup then pour in 400ml red wine and cook until reduced by two thirds.
Then add a little extra wine to the baking juices of the chicken. Add garlic to drippings in pan. Coat pan with cooking spray.
Our favorite way to serve this is with pasta. Add shallots garlic salt and pepper and saute for 1 minute. Cook until reduced to 14 cup about 5 minutes.
A quick toss of sage garlic and dry white wine makes a delicious sauce. Add the wine bring to the boil and boil rapidly for 10 mins or until the liquid is reduced by half. White wine sauce is the perfect cure for dry chicken.
Watch Nick and his Uncle Mark show you how to make both a white wine and red wine sauce in the recipe video below. Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and strain the sauce. Melt the butter in a pan and gently fry the shallots and thyme for a few mins or until the onion is soft but not coloured.
You can easily make this recipe at home with ingredients you have around the house while your dinner is cooking. Leave it on a rapid boil until the volume of liquid has reduced by. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
